Pinot Noir is a beloved grape among wine experts and critics. Some call this delicate, red grape the “velvet glove” of wine varietals. A grape so treasured deserves its own event. And that’s why World of Pinot, an international Pinot Noir festival, was invented.
The World of Pinot Noir
Set in the fine Pinot Noir country of Santa Barbara, the 2019 World of Pinot Noir festival will be a gathering place for some of the greatest Pinot producers in the world. Next year’s event is scheduled for the weekend of March 1-2. And vintners will attend from not just California. They will also represent Oregon, New Zealand, Chile and France. In fact, some of the greatest vintners in the world will be on hand to celebrate this finicky and fabulous grape. Best of all, Wold of Pinot Noir is open to the public!
Tickets are on sale now for this Pinot Noir festival, which includes seminars, tastings and several special lunches and dinners. (Among the events I would love to attend is a lawn party featuring 50+ rosés of Pinot Noir, sipped in the California sunshine.) The opening night party–which includes dancing–offers guests a chance to meet and taste with legendary Pinot winemakers. And for those looking for something truly over-the-top, the Saturday night Sommelier Guild dinner will include a six-course tasting menu paired with wines presented by Master Sommelier Jay Fletcher.
Tickets to the 2019 World of Pinot Noir are sold a la carte. But a Weekend Pass includes the opening night tasting on Friday, March 1, entry to all Friday and Saturday seminars and the Saturday, March 2 luncheon as well as Saturday’s Grand Tasting and a Pinot Noir pairing dinner.
