Ingredients
1/2cupwhite grape juice*
1/2cupspinachorganic recommended
1small ripe bartlett or d’anjou pearquartered and cored**
Add grape juice, spinach, pear, 2 tbsp lemon juice, ginger and vanilla to blender. Puree until smooth.
Taste. If smoothie isn’t sweet enough, add the agave nectar, (it all depends on the sweetness of your pear). For additional tartness, add the last tbsp lemon juice.
Add ice cubes and blend on high until smooth.
Divide smoothie between two juice glasses to serve.
Notes
*I've experimented with using fresh green grapes in place of the white grape juice. Although I've never been totally satisfied with the results, if you want to try it, use about 2/3 cup of grapes. **If you use a Vitamix or good blender to make this green drink, you do not need to peel the pear. Instead, leave the skin on for the benefit of additional fiber.
