This cocktail recipe adds lavender to the syrup for a deliciously herbal twist on the classic lemon drop. You can use it to make one lavender lemon martini or two lavender lemon drop shooters as instructed.
In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add sugar, lavender and zest, and dissolve sugar into the water. Cool completely, and strain into a squeeze bottle. Chill and store for up to 7 days.
To make the cocktail
Pour vodka, lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of lavender syrup into a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into two sugar-rimmed shot glasses. (See notes below for making a lavender lemon martini.)
Notes
To make a martini version, combine the ingredients in the shaker and pour into a martini glass rimmed with sugar. (Makes 1 cocktail.)
