How To Make Twinkie Sushi
Annette’s Twinkie Sushi recipe
This might be one of the silliest stories we’ve ever run, but who doesn’t need a laugh right now? (Not to mention a serious junk food fix?) This is not something we’d recommend making every day–and it most definitely isn’t going to improve your libido–but you know what Twinkie Sushi is good for?–Laughs!

Do some creative crafting
It’s also a great recipe to make with a partner. Although Annette recommends specific candies, this is a recipe you can work on together and get creative. Why not use red fruit rolls instead of green. Or if you try rolling it in orange cake decorating pearls, can you mimic the look of tobiko? So even though this recipe is pretty terrible for your blood sugar, it can be good for you in another way. It will make you stop, live in the moment, think creatively and create with your hands. And that, believe it or not, is one of the 10 Steps to Sexy!
This is chef food?
Believe it or not, this recipe has academic origins…sort of. Annette learned how to make this Twinkie Sushi at a meeting of the Culinary Historians of New York City. This seemingly highbrow group threw a no holds barred junk food party under the guise of exploring Andrew Smith’s Encyclopedia of Junk Food and Fast Food.
Chef’s tip for making the best looking dessert sushi
As you would with real sushi, you are going to need a good knife to make this Twinkie Sushi. You’re going to want to cut the Twinkies with a sturdy chef’s knife. And make sure that your knife is good and sharp before you start. (I highly recommend this knife sharpener for sharpening at home.) If you try to cut the Twinkies with a lightweight and or dull knife, you’re likely to crush the sponge and squish the filling out before you’re ever able to build your sushi rolls.
