How To Tap Into the Anti-Aging Benefits of Quinoa–hint? head to Peru

We’ve all heard that quinoa is one of the world’s most nutritious foods. That’s great and all but what if you don’t like the taste? (Or the texture, which some of our staff finds to be akin to sand.) Well, one innovative spa in Peru has the answer for you! At Aqlla Spa in the Andean mountains, they’re using the anti-aging benefits of quinoa to make you look and feel younger–and you don’t even have to eat a single bite.

The treatment

Guests at the luxurious Aqlla Spa in Peru’s Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel can indulge in a Deep-Hydration Cleansing Facial with Quinoa. This innovative treatment promises to offer deep hydration and stop premature aging. The spa uses locally sources quinoa from the Andes for this 45-minute treatment. It begins with exfoliation followed by toning and nourishing and is completed with deep moisture cream with a base of quinoa and honey designed to nourish the skin and improve skin tone. (We could all use some of that!)

The hotel

The treatment featuring the anti-aging benefits of quinoa is only available at Aqlla Spa at Sumaq Machu Picchu. The 62 room hotel has been recently renovated and is designed to celebrate its Andean setting and local culture. It features Peruvian cuisine and easy access to the famed archeological site of Machu Picchu. So, you may not discover the fountain of youth on your Andean adventure but with a bit of local quinoa, you may return home looking years younger.
