A new kind of culinary academy

Gastronomicom is a French culinary academy established in 2005 in the South of France. The school focuses on French technique for Michelin star-level cooking. It has built a very nice reputation in a fairly short period of time. And now they’re coming state-side, to Coral Gables, Florida.

Learn French cooking technique in Miami

Gastronomicom Miami, as the culinary academy is called, offers programs focused on both cooking and professional-level pastry. Whether you want to dedicate a few days to honing your skills or enrolling in a three-month intensive, the school has a program for you. In addition, for those serious about their culinary training, Gastronomicom also offers a one-year internship program. (It includes stages in Miami and southern France.) And there are even one-day workshops. So if you just happen to find yourself in sunny Coral Gables with a day and $150 to burn learning to make bonbons, this is the place for you!

About Gastronomicom

The cooking school is a for-profit educational institution founded by Martine Lessault, a veteran of the European hotel and restaurant industries. The instructors are all professionals in the field with impressive resumes.

We have not had the opportunity to personally check out the program. (The school doesn’t open its doors until September 2016). But we do think it sounds like an amazing place for anyone looking to learn more about the art of haute cuisine.
