There was a special treat today: Passion Fruit & Chevre Bread Pudding. (This is Charlie’s favorite use of passion fruit thus far.)
Dinner in Santa Monica was a festive affair at Lula Cocina Mexicana. Charlie tried duck sopas, corn enchiladas, stuffed, fried squash blossoms, a cheese quesadilla and some cactus. He also tried his first churros–the best part of the meal.
Stir fry for dinner… Charlie helped with the scallions.
Charlie checked out the scene on Venice Beach. Then, his friend Deborah suggested a visit to Schulzies, a walk up window that sells a dozen different kinds of bread pudding. Charlie enjoyed blackberry cobbler bread pudding with an ocean view.
Today was a passion fruit day. First, this morning’s shake was flavored with passion fruits.
Then, for dinner, Mom made passion fruit, raspberry and quinoa parfaits.
Charlie liked the cauliflower crust pizza so much last week that we had it again (this time Mom made a double batch). If you’re going to try the recipe, we recommend using a Silpat or other silicone mat (like the blue one in the photo below). This [email protected]! sticks!
Although he doesn’t seem to particularly like red meat, Charlie tried Trader Joe’s Hawaiian Style Short Ribs.
The sweet, tangy flavor of the marinade gave the meat a tenderness and flavorful appeal. It also made a great food for practicing fork skills and paired particularly well with yellow plum.
Sometimes teething makes it hard to eat. Luckily, Charlie loves frozen pineapple wedges no matter what.
Enjoyed a lovely outdoor brunch at Olio in Los Angeles.
Blueberry Pizza Danish, Egg Calzone and Chocolate Focaccia–Charlie loved it all!
