I first heard of Demitasse Jewelry in 2007 from one of those “it girl” online newsletters identifying the newest must-have for the young, fabulous and debt-free gal with no dependents and a bottomless bank account.

Rachel’s pieces embody the Eat Something Sexy world. They are thoughtfully designed, artfully crafted, thoroughly traditional, yet with a very new spin on the gourmet tradition of forking and spooning.

My favorites may be the absinthe spoons with their combination of sensual curves and hard edges and, of course, their reference to one of the culinary world’s most dangerous drinks. But then there’s the dessert spoon, an instrument designed to serve nothing but the most decadent of sweets. And, of course, there’s the extraordinary petite truelle, possibly the most intricate and interesting of the line’s many pieces.

The jewelry is sold in shops featuring fabulousness across the country and is also available from Rachel’s website, http://www.demitassejewelry.com. (You can view all the styles on the website, but let me tell you, no picture will ever thoroughly capture the tiny serving pieces’ charms).

Each of them would make an unforgettable gift for any aphrodisiac-loving girl. So if anyone was thinking of sending me a Christmas gift, I think I can find room under the tree for a Demitasse box! (It’s always good to plan ahead).
