Ramsay's
Nightmares come to the U.S.
If you have BBC, you probably already know Kitchen Nightmares,
the save-the-restaurant show. One of our favorite shows,
Nightmares reveals the caring side of the insult-slinging
chef from Hell's Kitchen. The U.S. version hit some
rough patches along the way, (from delayed airing dates
to lawsuits). But according to Fox, fall will see the
debut. Nominate your restaurant for feature in a future
episode at http://www.fox.com/kitchennightmares/.

You might not be able to get a reservation at The

the film that makes it ok to bring rats into the kitchen.
5
Second Rule? Try 30!
Great news for cooking slobs: the 5 second rule has
been tested and approved. Students from Connecticut
College put the old rule of 5 seconds on the floor and
a food is still edible rule. The team found that not
only was food germ free after 5 seconds, but many foods
were germ free for 5 minutes. The group concluded that
a standard of 30 seconds is a safe bet for germ-free
floor dining.

Famed
restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, (best known as Rocco
DiSpirito's partner in the ill-fated Rocco's), has launched
one of the food world's most amusing blogs. In retaliation
against what he deems, (and probably rightly), NY's
less-than-qualified restaurant critics, Chodorow's new
blog reviews the restaurant reviews printed in two of
NYC's top publications. Lap it up at http://www.chinagrillmgt.com/blog/.
