chef annette tomei
eats and tells
After
growing up cooking and baking with her two grandmothers
as they prepared traditional meals for their big Italian
family, Chef Annette Tomei knew her heart was in the
kitchen. Within a year of being asked, what would
you do if you won the lottery tonight? she left
her career as a real estate appraiser and graduated
from the French Culinary Institute in New York City.
A strong background in business paired with years of
experience in some of the best restaurants in New York
City and the Napa Valley have given Chef Annette a competitive
edge. Her experience has been enriched by starting her
own restaurant, working as a winery chef, operating
a successful private chef business, and working as a
manager for the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone.
Her interest in wine became a passion while in the Napa
Valley where she pursued professional wine studies at
the Napa Valley College, The Culinary Institute of America
at Greystone, and through the Court of Master Sommeliers.

In
her efforts to establish herself as the ultimate food
and wine geek, Chef Annette is currently pursuing
a Masters of Arts in Gastronomy through Le Cordon
Bleu Australia and establishing a couple of new food
and wine business concepts in the New York City area.
In her free time she seeks out the most
fabulous neighborhood restaurants, food and wine shops,
and farmer's markets; she eats and drinks way too
much, cooks for the deserving, then writes about all
of it
